DEATH NOTICE: Ronald William Surman, B.Sc., Phm., HD (R.Hom.)


It is with deeply saddened hearts that the family of Ronald William Surman, B.Sc., Phm., HD (R.Hom.), announces his passing on Monday, May 17, 2010, at the age of 69.
Beloved husband and best friend of Barbara Ann (Cranmer).
Loving father of Justin Hayes (Jaime), Jennifer, Jonathan and Jamie.
Cherished Poppa of Holden and Faris.
Dear brother of Daniel Surman (Margo) of London.
Ron will forever be remembered by his loving family at Hogan’s Pharmacy at Sarnia Bayside and by his trusted companions his dogs Murphy and Marley, and his cats Emma, Mickey and Avett.
Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Lorraine Surman, by his brother Steven Surman and by his dog Thor.
Ron was a member of the Ontario College of Pharmacists, the Canadian Pharmacists Association, the Canadian Society of Homeopaths, and NUPATH (National United Professional Association of Trained Homeopaths).
Ron will be remembered as a very passionate man who cared deeply about helping people. He always loved with all his heart and soul, always putting others before himself. The simplest things in life gave Ron the greatest joy: early morning rainshowers, nature, the beach, family dinners and spending time with his family. He was also an avid swimmer at the Holiday Inn,enjoyed reading his medical journals online and taking naps in the sunroom couch (with a medical clinic book on his chest).
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 20, 2010, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sarnia. Cremation will follow.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society (cheques only please).

Ron was a pharmacist for 46 years and his mission was to help people by giving them First Class Pharmacy Service. His dedication and devotion to his career and the people he helped, led him to his determination to support and encourage others to sign the petition against the McGuinty government for cutting pharmacy funding.

Service
